  • Kevin began working on this website in March 2014. In August that year, he joined NAWG as an individual member and soon became the association's web developer.

He was officially voted onto the committee as Web Administrator at the 2015 AGM in September. He held that position and an additional role as Publications Administrator until December 2017.

    Writing

Kevin started experimenting with a short story in 2005. It quickly grew into a novella, after taking on a life of its own. He was hooked and has been writing ever since.

In 2007, following a job redundancy, he began writing more seriously, though he soon realised it was unlikely to become his day job. Since then, he's undertaken many writing projects, some of frighteningly large proportions, such as a four-volume science fiction epic.

In the bag are: 7 novels, 2 serials, 2 novellas, and 17 short stories. He writes for fun and to work on his craft. The publishing will come at a later stage. In the mean time, there's much to learn, so he can often be found at writing-related events.

    Interests

Kevin is interested in most things technical and scientific. He's also a keen runner and enjoys mountaineering and other outdoor activities. For relaxation, he likes nothing better than to sit back with a beer and listen to some progressive rock music.

    Career

Until 1994, Kevin worked as a physicist at the Royal Marsden Hospital, doing research into medical imaging. He then switched careers to information technology, working as a commercial software developer.

Since 2007, he's worked in various roles as a software consultant, focussing mainly on web technologies.

    Education

Kevin went to school on Merseyside and later moved to Brighton to attend the University of Sussex, where he got his degree and doctorate in experimental physics.

One day he hopes to build a wormhole for travelling around the universe. For the time being, such ventures will have to remain in the realms of science fiction.

If you can't do it, write about it!
