Front Page
The new version of the front page was deployed on 18-Oct-2017. Features include:
- A single column with a larger typeface for readability.
- A multi-tabbed display for accessing different subjects and reducing the need to scroll vertically.
- The use of more images to break up the text.
- Dynamically retrieved content, to reduce the initial page loading time.
- A reduced headlines section, now that more information is given in the tabs.
Side Bar ↑
A number of changes have been made to the side bar, which should improve navigation around the website. These include the following.
- A "how to…" widget has been added. This is effectively a "call to action" navigation aid, consisting of links to commonly sought information.
- Some widgets have been removed, since they were merely repeating information that's already available in the "how to…" panel or in the front page tabs.
- The amateur-looking "cheesy" clip art images have been removed.
Search Engine Optimisation ↑
A couple of small changes have been made that will hopefully improve our on-going SEO efforts.
- Our sitemap, an automatically generated data page, has been submitted to Google. This will help their crawling and indexing robots to understand our website.
- A short meta description for the site has been added. This should help humans and robots during search activity. The description is limited to 160 characters, so it's quite a trick to squeeze in information.

Release 2.8.0 of the website was deployed on 18-Oct-2017. This was mainly to support the new front page.
