The "directory of groups" page has to be manually updated whenever changes are made to the membership data. At present, this is very labour intensive.

The approximate manual steps are as follows.

1. Take a copy of the membership spreadsheet.
2. Remove columns that are not needed.
3. Export as a comma separated values (CSV) file.
4. Cook this up into text/markup that's suitable for the web page.
5. Paste the text into the web page editing facility.
6. Publish the new page on the website.

A two stage approach to solving this is being taken.

1. [Done] derive the WGD from a single source file, which can be used to derive:

   1. The markup source code for the page,
   2. The single^† detailed PDF directory.

   This is done using command line tools.

2. Automated generation of the WGD information from the membership data.

† The original directory was split across geographic regions, but has now been merged into a single document, though still organised by region.
